  • and add clearance for proper town bike tyres with mudguards, and slacken the angles to suit the riding position and intended use, and drop the gear to something you might actually be able to use on a slow bike, and a second brake because it needs a freewheel, and a rack to take your shopping, and a chainguard so you can ride it in your good trousers...

    Hummm... not sure I agree with you on all of that. Look at the steamroller. I'm not sure it [Foffa Hi-Pro] needs to be that aggressive, but there's no need to make it into a dutch bike. The fact that people like riding track and road bikes with no racks and fairly skinny tyres but without drop bars shows the market. Add a style swist and I think it's there.

    I'm not sure I'd ever buy one, but that's more to do with what I think the frame would cost, and that I am capable and willing to search and build something similar in purpose.
