If I owned that it would be too tempting to shred EVERYTHING I own, purely to watch it get eaten. I wonder how it would deal with a marble carving block.

Used to work with one of these at a chemical waste disposal plant. Was big enough to chew up a pallet containing 4 205Ltr barrels in one go.
Managed to set fire to it on a regular basis.

It doesn't really destroy anything as all matter is energy..

Am even more in awe of the destroying machine than I was before! It chews stuff up and sets fire to it!

Was'nt intentional. We ground up liquid waste with fly-ash to produce a rubber lump for burial (Solidification And Fixation - SAF). Fly ash is really fecking alkaline, so if the idiot chemist (me) fecked up the technical analysis (prodding shite with pH paper), it went up.
820 Ltr acidic liquid + 1000 Ltr fine alkaline powder, in a little meta box = fecking hot, then fecking nasty smell, then big fire.
Proper chemistry^
(If it did'nt reach the 'big fire' stage we tipped i out into an on-site intemediate land fill. To catch fire over the weekend, when it would'nt disturb us)

Cool story bro^.

Intentional or not it still destroys shit and is capable via the majesty of chemistry of setting fire to it

SSI shredder v shopping trolleys.
Love how there always seems to be one wheel left, reaching up like Arnie's hand at the end of Terminator!
Reckon if you work at SSI you have to pick up something to shred on your way to work every morning?

What a job that would be! Do you think that they would get written warning for not bringing in original items for shredding?
