Foffa Bikes

Well, I know very little about bicycle design and/or engineering so in your book I guess I'm one of the "sad saps".

If throwing personal insults around makes you feel big and happy then have at it. Please keep the pity to yourself though because I really don't need it.

If you ask me, recently, most of the "bitter and twisted" in this thread is coming from you, in your reaction to people expressing their opinions. Most of the people who have commented on the last few bikes have been sort of "it's a bit shit looking, I'd buy elsewhere". Dunno who you think is getting all het up about it.

Because I/we aren't bicycle designers and we aren't being paid as such, we people on an internet forum exercising our right to voice our fashion and aesthetic based/non technical/nit picking opinions.

If Foffa wants a proper opinion of his products he should pay people who have the relevant skills to do that job. Similarly if he wants to make a frame he should hire someone with the relevant skills knowledge and understanding of both technical and aesthetic aspects of cycle design because he clearly lacks most of these.

It makes your opinion on whether or not something is a good design beyond aesthetics (which anyone can have an opinion on) less relevant. If you want to label yourself a sad sap that's up to you. I said there were some out there not that you specifically are, you're choosing to wear the hat.

I'm not het up at all. I just find it a shame that so many aren't prepared to give the guy a chance. And the feedback hasn't been 'it's a bit shit looking I'd buy elsewhere' as you suggest, if you have another look you'll see it's a fair bit nastier than that. Especially if you try putting yourself in DF's shoes and imagine it's directed at you.

I imagine he does pay people (in one way or another) to help him design his bikes. I find it hard to imagine that he gets everything for free, business doesn't work like that. And if he doesn't invest in his business then more fool him. But how can any of us say for sure when we don't actually know the facts. So much of the mud that's being thrown is based on purely subjective opinion.
