Can't you just get a friend to ride to the station with it, then get another to meet you at your London destination?

This was the plan or I ghost plenty of bikes for work so not an issue but will Virgin let me book two bikes onto a train on one ticket? Can just imagine some little jobsworth stopping me at the train door!
