JC is tops. His sountracks are so atmospheric and simple and define his films. They Live is so clever and creepy, Assault on precinct 13 is raw, sparse with an amazing moral core, , and the genre mashup Big trouble in Little china, exhilarating. There is genius in all his films though less in his later ones.
