Both of the above are correct. Genuinely gutted by this and that's not something I'd anticipated for any of the Jackii. He stood out as being far less douchey than the Bams of the group. Very sad.

That's probably why I liked him.
methinks I should grow my beard to match his as a tribute, wanted it that long either way.

No excuses not to now, especially with your mammoth expedition coming up :)

I'm excited and scared at the same time, especially when 2012 is coming up fast.
Now where the damn Phil Wood Touring hubs that's suppose to be here 4 months ago?

Is your postie riding around on some bling wheels?
-
• #3182
that was posted on his tumblr 2 hours before. sad really.I wonder if it was that drink that lead to the accident?
-
• #3183
I hope not, it's on a Monday morning, rather than a Sunday evening (unless that photo was taken in the morning, of which I doubt it).
Is your postie riding around on some bling wheels?
Pretty much.
I'm installing component that are a* 'fit and forget'* (like a chris king headset), while the Shimano XT will be good for touring, they're still stricty an MTB hubs, and aren't designed to be ridden fully laden, whether the Phil Wood Touring hubs is.
Secondly, I'm sure you as well as I know that a Phil Wood component is something you'd trust with your life.

i don't know if it was that drink, but I have no doubts he was driving home drunk.
the sad part of this whole affair (aside from the well publicized obvious part) is that someone else was in the car with him and they also died.
alcohol and cars just never mix.

It never does, but it's best not to make judgement about his state of mind at the time of the incident - we have no idea whatsoever, even if we can speculated what happen.

"i like you and have no reason to irrationally hate or persecute you"
"i feel the same way"
then a third guy walks in and says:
"hey, did you hear about the nodder/fixie-skidder/hipster who joined the forum?
and all three of them immediately stab each other to death.I blame* other people*.

One of the Manchester based forumengers, had his PW bottom bracket collapse in January and his crank arm then sliced through the 853 chainstay of his custom built BJ track frame.
Maybe your life ain't worth that much then ?

Mr Will, Sir, just a perfect example of modern life. I know so many people who refuse to take up any initiative without identifying a scapegoat from the start. Which is ridiculous I'm only interested in an escapedgoat so I can make a curry.

On a more serious note - when Prez Obama was over here, we were hearing how much David Cameron and he had the whole love-in thing.
Yet..... here.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13845025 Cameron refers to Obama as just that....Obama.... well.... I don't know about you but if I've got a new 'best friend' who also happened to be Prez of the US of A.... I wouldn't naturally refer to him by his surname. I know this is all a bit neuro-linguistic -programming, but does make me think Cameron (acceptable, he's not my friend) doesn't really rate Mr Obama (he's not my friend, but I'll happily show him some respect) as if he did he wouldn't just refer to him by his surname.
Oh, and if Mr Obama is reading this, I'm in the US in August, you around? Would love to pop in for a G&T.

Cameron was famously dismissed by Obama as a 'lightweight' when Cameron was leader of the opposition. I doubt he has forgotten that.

Presumably the dolt that ordered the reservoir to be emptied never goes to a swimming pool.
-
• #3194
yeah but can the reservoir now be ridden in on track bikes?
-
• #3195
as long as you are not using security paste, yes.

Rumours are flying that the hackers of Lulzsec have accessed and have a copy of the entire UK 2011 census database that they are going to release
-
• #3198
All the data from the census gets published anyway, doesn't it?
-
• #3199
Not your address details and such. Although the group are claiming they won't publish that.

And not for years is it?
^this, he was my favourite of the jackass group. I think it was because of the beard.
