  • How very odd seeing that the particular doctor with the bow tie never set foot on that particular ward for the past five years.

turned your eye to investigative journalism?

You cold uncover the new watergate, but it'd still read like the doors of perception.

    Sun Ra meets Hunter Thomson

He's claiming on twitter that he was just repeating what he was told by people with mental-health disabilities, but doesn't seem to be self-aware enough to remember saying: "My view is that for some people, the national minimum wage may be more of a hindrance than a help."

  • Philips Davies, fuck you.

Yes, it's incredibly hard for me to complete with hearing people whom not only can understand people better, but able to talk to the phone, of which 90% of jobs nowadays required.

It took me 2 years to find a job from someone who's willing to accept my limitation, and that's a big bicycle shop that have enough staff to answer the phone, my last job were in a pub stocking up the fridge in the weekend, while the hearing goes about serving the punters, so yes, I'm very likely to get turn away simply for not having the same ability as hearing people, in fact it's more about awareness, a lots of companies have no idea how to work with disablities and were afraid to approach the subject.

But to be told that I can able to get a job if I don't mind being paid less is pathetic, he failed to take in account for rents, electricty, gases, etc. which will be the same rate for me as it is to the hearing people.

It mean, that I'll have to get back on my disablities allowance which I cancelled a years ago as I already earn enough to not worry about extra cost for being disable (it mean I get a whooping £50 a week from the government), and thus a major drain on the taxpayers who have to pay more for the disablities to just about scraped a living.

So yes, fuck you Davies, it's just a pathetic and easy way to solve a problem instead of getting companies to work with the disabilities (i.e. wheelchair access).

  • Ed isn't that discrimination if your being paid less for being deaf?

  • Naturally so, however what can they (companies) says about it? they can easily claim that the other interviewer have the necessary qualification they needed, or simply that the position has already been taken.

Secondly, filing a complaints to the companies mean that there's less chance of me working for the said companies (I almost did to my bike shop a 2 years ago, glad I didn't when I got the job half a years ago).

  • ^FFS dontcha just love the Religious?
    What is an impure animal?

  • Well, us really.

  • I have seen that story on different news sites. Each one trying to outdo the other by finding a picture of the cutest, big-wide-don't-hurt-me eyed dog. Rather than some skinny, flea-bitten stray.

  • are cats also impure Will? Was yours?

  • She was filthy, a right slag, I could tell you some stories.....

i hate it when *this *happens

A Jewish rabbinical court condemned to death by stoning a stray dog it feared was the reincarnation of a lawyer who insulted its judges, reports say.

The dog entered the Jerusalem financial court several weeks ago and would not leave, reports Israeli website Ynet.

It reminded a judge of a curse passed on a now deceased secular lawyer about 20 years ago, when judges bid his spirit to enter the body of a dog.

So they cursed a guy and he became a dog. Surely they got what they wanted?

Now they want to kill him again? For being impure? They should have thought of that before turning him into a dog.

    Bloody shambles

  • i don't normally get a new view on religion or morals from five second cartoon sketches but something from an episode of family guy actually made me do a think on saturday night. in it, two biblical looking guys are having a conversation that goes something like:

"i like you and have no reason to irrationally hate or persecute you"
    "i feel the same way"
then a third guy walks in and says:
"hey did you guy hear about that magic baby that was born in bethlehem?"
and all three of them immediately stab each other to death.

    [/sketch]

not saying it was some great epiphany, but it did make me consider again what the world would actually be like if religion a sa concept didn't exist... and like the writer of that sketch i'm pretty sure that humans, being humans would be perefctly capable of finding other reasons to tribalise, seperate and fear and despise each other. like... maybe which end of their boiled egg they opened... oh wait...

anyway. just saying (that as a staunch atheist who might occasionally fall into the trap of seeing religion as the source of so many of the world's ills) it neatly made the point that perhaps it's people themselves that are the real root of people's problems, and as such, elimination of religion might not actually solve any of these problems.

the rest of the episode was m'kay. m'kay?

sorry. news thread. not religion thread. carry on.
