I ve just built up my bike and the drive mechanism is incredibly loud
It a 1/8 th chain (i have read they are louder) and 1/8th cog and 1/8th chainring
what would make it this load?- Not a perfectly straight chainline
- Cheap Chain
- Too tight
- A combination
any advice on reducing this noise is gratefully received
buy a KMC chain
- Not a perfectly straight chainline

always 1 and/or 3. both exacerbated by loud chains, such as most half links and the Izumi Super Toughness V chain....

I run an Izumi, not the Super Toughness, and it was noisy at first but has settled down now; maybe some use will have it all bed-in.

Hello chaps, finished my new build today. Its my first fixed bike and am loving it so far. Frame is from Belgium, a Diamant. Its a pretty blatant conversion but nonetheless, it rides beautifully. Running 3ttt bars and stem, miche hubs laced to open pro rims. Dura ace front brake with cane creek drop levers (the left one is a dummy). Drivetrain is Zenith fluted cranks with campagnolo pista 46T chainring and 17T EAI rear cog. Time atac pedals and Selle slr saddle. Tried to keep the build as clean looking as poss, hope you guys approve, .

That GT is one fine piece of trigonometry. And a damn nice Super Vigorelli in your collection of bikes too Jambon.

• #47343
keeping it as original as possible as a promise to the old owner, but i share your love of the pantographed bits, i didnt expect it to be as nice when me mate said i could have it :) Loving the Bob j so much at the moment i have hardly been out on the moser tho

Ha cheers, the mercian with edge wheels is horridly tatashopped (if you meant that set-up), I wish i had that much wedge, until then i'll keep signing on.

HA, I guessed as much. 'beater' gave it away. No, it's a damn nice frame, I'd love to have bought Mr.C's pink one that went on here last week, hence the appreciation of yours.
