  • if you're doing it on a budget why not respray the spokk, sell it to some hipster for loads of dowrah and buy a matching front wheel and some 3 piece cranks with the proceeds?

    just saying, would make sense.

Agreed...I need to respray it as the paint is looking a bit shit. How much do they go for these days?

I am not really on a tight budget, I am just making it up as I go along & when I see parts I like. I have some black sugino cranks I need to fit yet.

  • thanks, they appear to be pretty light as well compared to the plug

  • with hipster tax between £150-200 seems pretty standard spokk fayre i think... you could get a fair few bits and pieces for that.

i was eyeing up the frame in classifieds before thinking it would make a great fun bike, no room for any more bikes though.

  • It is a nice frame. I like the raw finish on it too.

  • thanks, they appear to be pretty light as well compared to the plug

Before you decided, go to a bicycle shop, and test ride the Cooper.

Only buy it if you actually like how it ride.

  • Picked this frame up today..thanks zulu33

This is what i have got so far...

if your not bothered, just ride it, It's just a wheel

  • Most sensible thing nowhere fast have said in decades.

  • sometimes "we" spend more time judging others bikes than riding ours.

  • I'm currently trying to convert an 80s Bianchi I got my girlfriend for her birthday into a fixed gear, it seems to be going pretty well so far considering that I have absolutely no
knowledge of how to do it. I'd managed to get the rear cassette, derallieurs etc off and I've bought a track sprocket. I was talking to a guy I know about it and he said that I wouldn't be able to
Make it fixed without a track hub, I have no idea of that's true or not, if I put the track sprocket onto the original hub will it be fixed or just a single speed? I could always found out for myself but I thought that asking strangers on the Internet would be easier.

unless you want to kill your gf, read this http://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed/index.html carefully

    namely this page http://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed-conversion.html

  • Cheers, I'll give it a look, I would ideally like to avoid killing her.

  • You never know who's watching. Nice cover ;)

  • If you buy a cheap track hub, id rebuild the wheel for you. Would be infinitely better imo.

while most people are on here complaining, i'm learning

  • What have you learned on this forum so far?

    • visible welds are anti and a sign of poor quality.
    • old + Italian = porn, always.
    • matching colours = anti, non-matching colours = anti too.
    • if it's not expensive it's anti.

    ...more?

  • :o why?
