i have a flexible chainline at the back so no probs there but it's sram external BB system so very limited with movement, i think i can put 1 spacer in which i've done and it seems ok and i'll see what rings i have in my toolbox at home and hope they fit
and i can't use spacers as they are track cranks so spacers will just make the problem worse
You can space the cups out. There's plenty of thread on them. As long as the loose crank arm has enough axle showing to attach safely.
I have the opposite bodge on my 29er. I removed a standard spacer on the DS for better chainline. Any more and the loose crank arm would'nt apply pre-load to the bearings anymore. But I just get away with it.
