  • i agree - more is not neccessarily better - choice of wood materials, build quality and finish are always going to trump all manner of fancy electrical jiggery pokery, however quality elctronic hardware isnt all about sustain - it's about versatility. you can get pretty much any sound you like out of my current plank with a few minor tweaks of the knobs, and the thru neck and body contouring just makes it that much easier to get up the neck on those rare occassions you need to.

    fwiw - playing an upright with cheap spots and a decent transducer makes for sustain that lasts hours.
