Also - If you need a hand planning a route - I am from Nottingham & we used to do rides out to Derby all the time so know some good routes - also If you fancied spreading the love to Nottingham afterwards we can organise some kind of drinking as I have a lot of friends that ride fixed there + a roller racing set up we could utilise!

How long is the route? I have a Mercian track bike and having cycled around there a few years ago, there's no way I'm doing it fixed.
-
• #57
Around where Mercian actually is its not that Hilly! Only when you go into North Derbyshire really..

mercian vincitore - woo hoo!

Still has shocking grip things- bikesnob'd be all over those quicker than you can say 'pointless dog's cock bar grip arrangement'...
Still a nice frame mind.
-
• #61
Yeah - the grips are getting a bit of ribbing in the"Current Projects" section but in case I change the bars didn't want to commit to brooks tape. My day to day bike has risers and so I quite like that riding position which is why i put the grips on the place where my hands will be going. Came down to look v funtionality. I was looking for clear grips but couldn't see any in 14, BLB or condor

Fair enough Phil, it was a stupid comment anyway. You should ride whatever however you want, I was just being a dick.

Monday 12th of September 2011. That's the date for the ride folks.

• #64
Sweet.

I've just purchased a Mercian frame with a snapped downtube... the race to get it repaired and built is ON!

Skull - no worries re comments - I think you are one of the folks on here i would listen to anyway!
Still not changing the grips through so haters can hate ;-) -

Just hoping I am not travelling for work that week.

Finally able to pay in full for the Mercian i got measured for in April 2010 - I can't wait.
-
• #71
damn. I wish I could come, but I've got school that day.

I'm planning an amazing oufit for this. It's all about dressing up right? Inspired by the retroposhsteampratt scene, with a queer fetish cowgirl twist
-
• #73
nah, going incognito, it's a monday, and it's not like we're going Leeds or anything.

I'm afraid I can no longer run, or take part in this ride. Something has come up.
If someone would like to take the reigns it would be really appreciated. It would be a shame for it not to happen. Plus I know people have taken time off work etc. I have spoken to Mercian regarding the date and the number of people going (at the time). No times or a route has been set. So that would need sorting with whoever takes over.
Hope this is alright with everyone concerned.
Thanks.The Bonk
Evening Skulls - I got the dress code - just felt on mercians it is more tweed/smart casual then lacoste/danny dyer.
The lack of plugs are annoying me but for some reason hit by complete indecision over the tape.
