ftfy. Stock sizes are less than half the price of the Surly.

I dont own either. But given the chioce. I'd go with the Surly every time.

I'd like to put something a bit bigger than I have on at the moment (32's I think) and maybe go tubeless. The karate monkey will do this easy but the pomp looks a bit tight.

The Singular peregrine would do the job nicely too.
