Well my langster has bitten the dust. Too much in appropriate use I think.
It was being used like this

and this happened. A bit tricky to tell what is ging on as it was in a cupboard and I could get it out to photo propperly. Basically the drive side chain stay has snapped near the drop out.


Is it possible to get this weld back together? I know with steel it's easy but with aluminium? Also what are the chances it's beginning to fail elsewhere?

If it's not looking great I'll get a new frame. I'm thinking a pompetamine or a karate monkey. The karate monkey look really nice but you can't run a rear disc and a rear rack which is annoying. Any opinions on these frames?

I may keep the langster, fix and use it as a beater as it was my first bike - sentimental like.

my mate got a crack in his langster in exactly the same place about a year ago and specialized replaced it under warranty.
