Jesus, well done for staying on the bike...possibly best to turn off the main road in that situation and lose them. This is way beyond the usual everyday thoughtlessness of most motorcyclists/scooterists (thats what I thought the thread would be about). Did you get any number plates? I am routinely cut up, forced into the kerb, boxed in etc, but never so purposefully. Closest I come to your experience is from youths on foot, my freind was hit round the head in croydon at 1am sun morning on way to brighton, I've had to sprint a few times for fear of being beaten up and having the bike nicked.
I've often thought about using my d-lock to defend myself in these situations...but am pleased to say I always chicken out.

BMW GS's are the bane of my commute, the usual preferred method is to use any gap between cyclists and cars for a spot of undertaking, whilst accelerating hard. One regular if not daily proponent is a GS rider clad in matching Ewan Mcgregoresque bmw overalls with the reg L100T, ifyou see him stay well clear\get off and wait for him to speed past.

Most? Really? What percentage did your research come up with?
Oh, I get it, you're drawing a massive conclusion from your own experience...a bit like when motorists and pedestrians say most cyclists jump red lights, ride on the pavement, don't use lights at night, etc. When we know it's just Prancer doing these things...

Funny thing motorcyclists, in general.
There's a minority of them that regularly break the laws.Whereas with cyclists and motorists it's the majorities which break the law.
That's based on my own painstaking personal research over 20 years btw.

What've you been doing for the other 30?

You meant to type "3"

Well, despite being 53, you don't look a day over 50.

You're both on the fucking list.

Don't think I want to be on RPM's fucking list. It's bad enough being in his little black book.
-

Good, because I wouldn't want to be on any list that you got on to...

Almost every bicyclist I know breaks the law. Fucking get them off the road I say.

Jesus, this thread has turned into a geriatric grooming thread. I'm out of here, have a hot date with Gav86.

It happened to quickly to get a plate number.
On a separate note, provocative as they were, they did wait patiently at the lights before speeding to catch up with mates.

I had a puncture today, no big deal, but I was surprised that at least half a dozen cyclists passed me by without checking that I was OK. But a bloke on a BMW GS stopped, offered to help, and stayed for a chat while I fixed the bike. Really nice guy.
Later I passed a bloke in club kit (CC Basingstoke) getting on a bit, a respectable / professional type. A mile down the road came to a queue of cars at some traffic lights and he rode to the front, through the red light and turned right. Based on this exhaustive experience I think cyclists are bigger twats than motorcyclists -

I am not generalising on motorcyclists or cyclists. Just shocked by the crazy behavior of the group I came across, and the danger that is magnified by their powerful motorbikes. If they are really gangsters, that is potentially even more dangerous.

grooming?
But to quote someone else "To generalise is to be an idiot. To particularize is the alone distinction of merit. General knowledges are those knowledges that idiots possess".

Their motorbikes looked like sportbikes but with much more ground and wheel clearances.
Supermotos?

The creativity displayed in naming these gangs is excellent. Purple Hayes is my favourite.
On bus lane on Old Kent Road southbound at ~1830 today, a black motorbike suddenly overtook me on the right and did a 90 deg turn right in front of me and turned into a small road. Was expecting a crash. After the miss he (she?) was looking at me but not in an apologetic way, and its when I realised he did it intentionally. Yell at him and kept on.
Further down the road, someone closed in in a provocative way, braked heavily to make loud sudden noise. The same biker. He even turned back and waved at me. Dxckhead.
He was in a group of ~10 all in black outfits and motorbikes. They all drove in a noisy, erratic way, braking the front wheel heavily to lift the rear etc. Their motorbikes looked like sportbikes but with much more ground and wheel clearances.
Anyone also bullied by motorcyclists groups?
