Found a mint Tom Crowther track at a local initiative to which people donate old bikes, they get fixed up, then sold on for £20-30. For a glorious moment I thought they might not have known what they had on their hands. Unfortunately they did. Beautiful bike. Good luck with the sale.

@Malrees2 - we would lynch anyone that broke this bike up, don't worry. I would rather buy it than let that happen. MetroCammel is a worthy recipient, I'm sure.
@furiouspiles
No can do. I have the best path bike I could ever want already. I am trying to sort out my duell road bike, 9speed athena group being picked up today, just need bars, spokes, tyres, cables & tape. -

^^and so is TS, if Metro backs out.

That's a great looking bike there. It's not often that something like this comes up for sale on here.
-
• #24
Not often? It's Tommy Crowther's own Path bike. That's as good as it gets.

Dear lord - I've just had a sex wee
Dibs stem..........................
In 1958, this frame was specially built for Tommy Crowther, owner of Mercian Cycles, Derby. A year later it was purchased by its present owner, who was a well-known time-trialist and is now unable to cycle due to illness.
He has asked me to sell this complete machine, which is one of the finest road-path frames I have encountered. The details are as follows:
22 1/2 seat tube and top tube
Reynolds 531 with very finely hand-cut lugs, which were specially made for this frame only.
Wheels are Mavic 32/40's on large flange Campag track hubs, currently with 22 sprocket .
Steel GB Titan Maes stem and GB aluminium bars 16" OS/OS. GB front brake.
Brooks Pro saddle with the rare simple badge embossed on Campag 2 bolt seatpin
TA 51 chainring on Stronglight Dural Forge cranks
Bluemels Club Special mudguards. The bike is ready to ride away.
