Hello chaps. Can anyone help me figure out what sort of tubing this frame has? Its a diamant from belgian, I bought it a couple weeks ago off someone off here and absolutely love it. It weighs 2kg with forks. Has a little hanger off the top tube for what I suspect is for attaching your racing number? I'm a bit new to all this so am learning as I go along. The reason I ask is I would like to get a decal of the tubing type for the seat tube.
It has a Cinelli BB Shell like so http://velobase.com/ViewFramePart.aspx?ID=73EA175F-01A2-4256-9005-CE0F741B67E4&AbsPos=83 and Campagnolo drop outs. Also has internal cabling in the top tube for the rear brake. Seat tube is 27.2. I found a picture of a frame that looks identical to it that has a Columbus Max decal on it but cant be sure this is the correct tubing?
I have attached pictures which I shamelessly nicked from the previous owners ad.

Spotted this on a bike at the Nocturne yesterday - the owner said it was a 70s race fender he'd picked up at a bike jumble, anyone know anyone who's making these or anything similar?

Hi
I've got a 1980 Carlton that's been painted over and decalled with Olmo Competition AND Colnago Super decals - wierd because they look like their from the same decal set..?
Anyway, I think it might be a Pro looking at this guy's lugs http://www.flickr.com/photos/74418119@N00/2476060203/in/set-72157604673051032/ - but would appreciate any other ideas.
Also does anyone have a 1980 Carlton Catalogue link?
Here are some specific photos:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/64004696@N07/5829604953/in/photostream/It also has rear rack eyelets suggesting it might not be a Pro though the guy I bought it from said he was told they were brazed on later - I'm not sure because they look pretty neat. No idea about the tubing either. I was told 653 but extremely doubtful about that.. I'm fairly sure there were no 1980s Carltons made in 653 but PLEASE correct me!
Cheers

I really wish I would have written down all the research I did when looking up Raleigh serial numbers.

I sold that beast when I was dead broke. I still cry about it at night. It was slightly large for me though so I guess it wasn't meant to be mine.
Sorry, I know I'm not any help but I'm a new member and have to get a few posts up.
I WANT a 74/75 Pro Track again sooo bad that would probably WAY overpay for one if I found one.

Not exactly the same but the ones I got you but mine are genuine late 70's Weinmann.
Post pics when they are fitted!

Can anyone tell me what frame this is? I think it says meccaniche on the head badge but google turned up nothing. My mate has just bought a frame with the same lugs (in chrome too) and "mecca" is all thats left on the painted head badge.

Anyone have an idea what GT track bike this is?
Most probably a custom jobby but anything would be great. The pics taken from GT's 1998 catalogue.
(Bike in the middle with the bloke)The sig bottom right looks like 'Mark Allen' but not too much luck with that.

• #1472
Apparently Mark Allen aka "The Grip" is predominantly a triathlete.
He has his own website. Maybe you could contact him direct?

• #1473
Cheers Chris, I did consider that. Maybe this pic below may jog his memory.
Just found this image of Marty Nothstein randomly on an other forum.
Looks like a Corima badged as a GT? -
• #1474
Yeah, I've had a bit more of a dig and the only GT track frame I can find from 98 is the GTB-1. Maybe like you say it's a one off or something else rebadged. Am I right in thinking they rebadged Yamaguchi frames earlier in the 90s or had frames made by them?
-
• #1475
Doesn't look like a Corima. The headtube cluster isn't right for a Corima
OK, but the bike, anyone?
