Thanks for the help, spoke to AT&T but they wouldn't unlock so i went down the jailbreak route.

That would mean it's an American handset. Were you an AT&T subscriber? Or did you get this phone second hand?

If you got it 2nd hand, just jailbreak it. You won't be able to get AT&T to unlock.
