Yeah, I was looking at gearing on a calculator app today, and I think I'll stick an 18t on the rear to go with the 49t front. Should give me about 72gi, which is only a little more manly than my 42:16 previously. Conveniently, I have an 18t kicking about :)

I don't want to hijack, but does anyone have a campag bcd chainring between 52 and 36 teeth?
I already have those two, but to get a sensible ratio I'll have to use either a massive or a tiny sprocket on the back which isn't ideal..
also zouo let me know when you are in town (cov) and i will endeavour to return your BB tool.

I have a back 48t Stronglight track chainring which is 144bcd (current Campag track size). It's done less than 50 miles.
I will be in town tomorrow pm some time most likely. If we meet it tends to be 2pm ish.

I've heard that they get another shop, or some one else to do them. Not asked though so I don't know if that's definitely the case.
Atkins do a good job :)

Simon at albany does a very good job, I've never heard of a wheel going back to him thats broke
Personally, I can't push a big gear. Just not strong enough. I am happy spinning.
On the Alfine I am running 44/20 now which is super spinny in the lowest gear but as I am doing a lot of footpaths and cycle tracks it works out fine. Track bike is 49/19, so again not exacly a massive gear.
Steve - the Goldtech chainrings are decent if you are ordering a smaller ring. Not the cheapest but nice and thick and they should last as you can turn them round and use both sides. Cheaper just to by a big cog for the rear though.
