  • have a look at TRAKKE

    http://www.trakke.co.uk/

They are made here in the UK.

I looked at these online has anyone got one what are they like?

  • Apologies if this is in the wrong thread. Just need reccomendations of somewhere to get waterproof, large, ziplock type bags that are pretty sturdy?

  • Check out SEAL-LINE in the list in the first page of this thread.

  • Trying to decide on a new backback that can carry my weekly shopping. Just wondering if anyone knows if the main compartment in the Chrome Pawn matches the Ortlieb Messenger for space? I'm leaning towards the Ortlieb but if the Pawn is the same size plus pockets I'll probably get that.

  • My Levrier greyhound bag is finished, looks great in the photos, can't wait to see it in the flesh.

  • Now i'm normally not one to criticize other bag makers....but $550...i don't care how pretty the flap looks...that bag doesn't warrant that price tag!

    No proper padding...polyprop webbing...c'mon!

Someone at work passed this site around (it's made using our site designer) and it looks like the prices have reduced somewhat in the past 3 years.

ooo deffo post pics when you get it :D

  • ^ this is Dan's photostream - I've not had a chance to take shots of my own yet - it is a very very nice bag though, well chuffed

  • Mission Workshop has a new smaller, simpler backpack out.
    Looks nice and tidy.

Check post #1 on page #1! These have been mentioned before. In fact I use one. They are good bags on a tight budget. You should spend the money on the extras like Xpac material, cross chest strap and shoulder pad. The possibility of buying attachable pockets for the inside is nice too.

  • My little feedback on Chrome Metropolis;
I was riding with this bag for around 3 weeks now. Usually is half full with random essentials, groceries etc. but today I finally loaded it full and heavy.
In the bag went quite few books (cheers sumo), kryptoflex cable, fags, jacket, saute pan, and 4.4L deep pan with domed lid.
It was comfy for around 10 minutes and then I understood that I would love to have proper X strap on it.
I like the bag, decent materials and take a lot but if you going to take some extra weight on various occasions I would consider other bags.

  • Chopper Reid* wants to have a word with you. :)

    *****He's from Oztralia.

  • you what?

  • he means 'HTFU'

  • He just should fuck off back to his espresso components thread

  • Have you even looked at the first post of this thread? If I were to fuck off anywhere, surely it would be here to this thread. I created it, and it is the largest resource of courier bag makers anywhere.

Did you not notice the smiley face at the end of my post? That indicated that it was a joke. I started this thread as a useful place for people, including me, to find replacements for a courier bag, if they wanted one. I used to be a courier and still use the same bag daily. It's a one strap affair and is 18 years old now. I haven't replaced it yet, despite using it nearly everyday. The Espresso components thread was me demonstrating my sense of fair play. That others don't get it is fine, but you have never conversed with me once, at any level, so why you feel the need to be so rude is bizarre and unfortunate.

Be that as it may, when YOU are looking for components, such as hubs, bottom brackets, deep profile rims, shallow profile rims, moustache handlebars, puncture resistant tyres, track frames, British handmade fgss frames, cranksets, clipess pedals, or even bike lights, you could find yourself landing on a thread I created, or added a list into to try to be helpful. Good luck with the rudeness. Everyone seems to think it so cool or manly. It isn't. And as for the Locks That Work thread; lets hope you never have a need for it.

  • Mate, im so sorry. I did not realised that you own this thread and therefore you can make pointless comments to constructive feedback about well known product.
Dont worry mate. I wont be raiding YOUR threads again.

  • Repped for pretty good sarcasm. I actually think it far more effective than rudeness.

  • someone chop a Chrome bag onto that pic of Vic and Bob holding handbags aloft ;)

  • Saw those Seal Line backpacks in Condor yesterday and was tempted. Looks a bit sexier than the Ortliebs but want to see if the roll top blocks rear view as much.

just picked up one of these.

    stand by for an update.

  • jusr received it**

It's smaller than i expected (which is a good thing) and extremely well built. the pockets are all very well planned and seem to each have an intended purpose. All the flaps hang well over the edge of said pockets making the entrance of rain relatively impossible. Other pockets have weatherproof zippers and flaps. There are definitely pockets that i'd trust for my phone etc in a torrential storm while riding. There's another i'd trust for my computer/large envelopes. the main pocket may see a drop or two of rain in a storm while riding, much like any messenger bag might.... it doesn't have a zipper, but the flap hangs well over the edge and should do fine.

It's noticeably comfortable. it's sits *very *close to your back and doesn't feel like dead weight. Because of this though it's not suited to carrying anything like a shoe box or a six pack of beer. It's just not fat enough.

This is a great bag for carrying daily essentials with a computer and a book or two, with room to spare for a small light jacket. It's not the bag you throw groceries in. Not big enough. they say it measure 12x18x7 inches. That seven inches fills out really quickly. The 18 and the 12 dimension are perfect.

Excellent build, comfy, very weather ready, good pockets, tidy, small. Perfect if that's what you're looking for.
