London 2012 Olympics Tickets

hmmm there are 6billion people in the world and a couple of million tickets
someone do the maths
it is highly unlikely that everyone in the world will get in ( i've seen the stadium and i can assure you it doesn't hold 6bn )
therefore some people will be disappoint

maybe we should start a thread on the national lottery and have people rant about how disappointed they are that they didn't win the 30mn roll over last night

2Million People applied for 6Million tickets. they just made 20Million applications.. why.. because it was a fucking lottery and you had to put your neck on the line with over spending in the blind hope you get the ones you want. Why not just restrict the numbers and do first come first served! works for ~Glasto and tons of other events?

i'd be interested to see the market for selling un-wanted tickets i.e. those how got more than they could really afford.

I applied for £2000 worth, £142 taken from the account.. i think that was just the VISA fees, booking fees and handling fees for the administration but no fucking tickets.
