nefarious, that frame is lovely, has a very interesting finish, what is it?

It's a Rory o'Brien track path frame from the 50's. It's heavy and not very stiff but really nice to ride all the same. Picked up the F&F and headset for £75 at a bike fair.
The paint is pretty knackered to be honest.

Are these handlebars Cinelli, or just from a random old town bike?

I've used similar shapes, I really like them. It's tricky to find good brake lever position with them though.

Bought a 1980-vintage Gazelle Champion Mondial frame from Tel a few weeks back and this is what I've done with it:

That's the original paint scheme on the frame; I just went with it when choosing components. Still have to attach the pedals, trim the brake cable and make some final adjustments.

Hi everyone!
Here is my current project. It's a replacement of my damaged Harry Quinn.
It's a Denton Cycles frame, shop in Newcastle Upon Tyne, but i don't know if they had a frame builder or had frames made by someone else for them. If anyone knows anything about Denton Cycles, would be good to know a bit of a history, maybe even who made it.
All i know that it is made of Reynolds 531, has nice engravings and pretty tight clearances. Rides great!
Also it has : Halo AeroWarrior wheelset with EAI 18t sprocket, Sugino 75 cranks and chainring (46t), Miche Primato bottom bracket (need to swap it for better asap), Fizik Arione saddle, Nitto seatpost (S-83) and handlebars (B259), System Ex stem. Not sure what is the headset, but it works smooth, so I'll keep it for now, I've got Grip-Nut to replace it then it's time for it.
First idea was just to swap everything from one frame onto another, but in the end only cranks are same, everything has changed.
It should be with drops, and i have them, ready to go, but my wrists are pretty knackered from work, so have risers (Thanks to Downlo !) at the moment, very comfy ride!
Pretty happy with it, just bottom bracket bugs me a bit, as should be 2-3mm longer axle.

i have a call for advice. got my new ride yesterday, sorted out a problem i had with the lockring today, got home. and FUUUUU puncture already.

I mainly intended on using it on the track only, but i didn't realise the tubs would be quite as dramatic as they are, i do want to ride it on the road sometimes.

so, my dilema is, do i

A.) un build and re build the wheels with clinchers (i really like the dura ace hubs) bearing in mind when i say un-build and re-build, i mean il need to find someone who can do it!

or B.) sell the entire wheelset and try and get a new set of wheels that are appropriate for the bikes era?

I've spunked all my money on it already so i'm on a tight budget and for now can't even afford a new tub to get it riding again - was rather hoping this wouldn't be a project at all, but now it is. arg.

if youre on a tight budget it would probably be best to sell the wheelset and buy a new one - i cant see 2 tub rims and 1 punctured tub having much resale value, and then you'd have to add cost of spokes, rims and building..

yea that's kind of what i was thinking, after adding up the costs of the build i think it will rocket to the same cost as a whole new wheelset.

I'd keep the tubs for the track.

And get a simple, cheap clincher wheelset for £100ish.

Something like:
Rigida Chrina (36h) x2 = £30
Sapim db spokes = £30
Miche hubs = £45
Rim tape = £3
Rubinos x2 = £20

Keep the tub wheels flr the track, buy some system x hubs with open pro rims and silver spokes.

These aren't a waste of money (unlike most £100 sets of track wheels). Just to get you rolling along.
