    and i'm trying exactly the same maybe trying to squeeze down to about 450£

    my build list is going
    frame- £140
    bars+stem- £30
    crankset+bb- £115
    wheels- £100
    saddle- £60
    carbon forks- £40
    brake levers- £20
    total- £505

    Although I've just realised I haven't accounted for tyres, tubes, a brake, the cable and bar tape. So it might be £550 overall.
    It would be easy to save money on things like the cranks, forks and saddle though.

    Your money should go on the bits that spin, so BB, HS and HUBS being priority.
    Your wheels cost less than your frame.... and your saddle costs more than half of the wheels.
    Something tells me yourenotdoingitright.
