Really nice ^.
What's going on with your front cable though? -
• #210
The angle of the brake lever with the swept-back bars means the cable sticks out at a funny forward angle and pulls the brake noodle forward. Looks really tight in the picture but it's not. Looks weird, works perfect!

Looking at getting myself a Pompetamine. Anyone know what stem angle I'll need for the stem to line up parallel with the top tube?
-
• #212
Probably varies by frame size, but around -10° should be close

Glow in dark still full price, darn.

Does anyone remember a Pompino, posted somewhere (I'm guessing Porn?), stripped & clear coated, gum wall tires, probably the best looking Pompino ever to be built?
It was something like this, but no Brooks -

^nice. Why do surly charge nearly twice as much for something basically the same?
-

Pompino's are now only £130 as well. How much would Mario charge you to get it in a nice colour?

They are not the same. Look at the geometry. The Pompino has a slightly angled top tube, where as the Steamroller is straight!

YES!!! You're a legend ;D
Thanks!
(those are £45 tires (each)!!!) -

I mean the same in terms of production costs.

Ok I agree with you, but at the same time the finish on the steamroller is much better. 'X2 the price' better I'm not sure. Why don't they just do 'black' pomp as well. I toyed with getting a white Pompino and then using the price difference against the Surly to justify getting it Armourtexed - but in the end I just went for the Surly.

Like the straight forks ^^
I find that I get a bit of flex/shudder on the Pompetemine forks with a disc brake. What's the verdict on this? Is it normal to have a bit of flex?

Yes.

(those are £45 tires (each)!!!)Bloody nice build. Only the 2nd Pompino I've seen that didn't look the least bit ugly.
This reminds me of a grey Landrover Defender I used to drive.

I think the real question is why wont on one make pompinos more attractive like surly does. Imagine a pompino without sloping toptube and excessive canti mounts for 150e. Just a minimalistic track frame instead of the jack of all trades it is now. Not saying it should replace the current though.
^similar thing happened to me when I had those cranks. I managed to lose the compression bolt about 20 minutes after I put them on, and it definitely wasn't loose. I put it down to the bolt being so short and the threads barely engaging. I put one of these (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fsa-v-drive-lh-crank-bolt/) in and checked them regularly and it did the trick*
*until the drive side arm came loose from the spindle 6 months after
