  • In lieu of not having my iphone to use I'm lugging a 5D mk1, perhaps a bit overkill for this application?

  • Haha! Worth it though

  • No prob, I blame my backup laptop for being slow as shit - takes me 10 mins to get a photo processed and online!Anyway here's a picture of an almost-track-bike next to an open tower bridge:

    Great pic

No, it's nice to see some decent pictures.

    For a change ;)

  • Updated the map: http://tinyurl.com/lfgssbtob

Ran out of black markers so started using red ones. Also put few "?" in the descriptions of tags I wasn't 100% sure on.

  • wicked bike xander

and wish I knew where is the other tag

  • Thanks man. Which bike are you talking about?

  • Old tag: What remains of the abandoned City Road tube station.

    New tag:

  • I didn't know that was an old tube station. Any chance of a clue for those of us who have absolutely no idea?

  • I've been trying to think of a good clue...

It's a lot older than it looks.
And it's technically a council estate.

  • Google confirmed my suspicions. Still can't be sure of the exact spot though :P

  • ^^ Hmm, interesting...

  • I know where this is but I don't have my bike with me today. Perhaps later if it's still going. I work right next to this...

  • Which bike are you talking about?

    green mtb

Here are pictures of the inside

  • Old tag: City of London Guildhall library looking across Guildhall Yard in the direction of St Lawrence Jewry (1680's)

Well, Mr Quinn, did you lie on your back to take that shot? I had all kinds of fun trying to get the viewpoint similar to yours.
The Guildhall builings are a real treat. I still have never visited the Gallery nor seen the the vaulted interior of the medieval Great Hall. The library though strikes me as decidedly 1970's, with concrete panels reminiscent of a Star Wars Death Star interior.

There's also more than a touch of Darth-Vader's helmet about the 'gatehouse' from under which Blue Quinn took his photo.

Clue: this fella's not a street robber, he's a cobber street.

  • Old tag, Friend street off St Johns Street.

And where is this? Obviously lack of sunshine today hints this was taken earlier in the week, i managed to airbrush over the phone number on the sign in the background but potato-shopping out sunshine is way beyond me.

I think its easy enough but as some of the recent clues have been too cryptic for my addled brain here's a selection of dead easy ones so we can keep it going at a decent pace.

Not far from a Smuf TT route is an arty oasis where it could be said the only house in london with a light resides, you can tell the time by quickly dropping your trousers and get fat Americana style, though Gwyneth remains a rake so I assume she had a buckwheat shake or something.

  • Got it, but my hangover hurts far too much to go and tag it....

  • Yep, good work, shame you couldn't get it. I think it was one of those 'if you've never seen it you'd never get it' ones. Although I was convinced it was a stairwell. Fooled by Niall's photo angle...

  • The modified road sign, by the way, is by a French artist called Clet Abraham.

I didn't know he'd done stuff in London, thought he was based in Florence. Could be an imitator or he got someone else to put them up I suppose. They are self adhesive and meant to be easily removable.

Thanks for that info, Fox. One of the things I love about this thread is that the knowledge pools. I just assumed in my world-weary, way that this was a fifth generation derivative authored by some St Martins guerilla 'artist'.*

and following the tradition of this thread I need to add 'I've got no idea about the new one,

*accounts for approx a quarter of SE regulars.
