Most of my friends who track their cars run touring car slicks as they are ~£30 each, as opposed to ~£200 each for R888's, and the slicks will outgrip them (once hot enough, which is a challenge all of its own).
They are utterly terrified of rain however.
I'm guessing that cut motorbike slicks, stone cold, are going to be a bundle of laughs in the rain?
Not that this is really going to be an issue of course.
