Now monster needs new tyres should I fit cut slicks that I get for free (ex race tyres that have really worn edges so I will extra posing points down the biker hang out,) Or buy a set of maxxis and see what they are like? But have to pay?

Cut slicks will need a bit more riding to warm up, and be more gentle/smooth till they re warm.

If they're free and not worn out, fit the cut slicks. They probably won't warm up unless they are heavily cut but as long as you're smooth, it won't really matter.
