I like the look of the raw Scandium.. Kinda copperish.. Can that finish be preserved?
Is the headtube 1"? Then get a skinny straight carbon Look fork in there.. Effin' sexy I'd say..yeah! it's a 1'... i made a steel fork for it.
the gold finish of the Easton scandium is only the treatment that Valdemiro gives to the aluminium frames. It´s possible (i think) to preserve it."no decals" ----------------> i think this one will be like that
hummm! great choices Malaysian ;) i'll have to test thatbradertan, as spotter said that subject is already here (lfgss). But yeah, they are custom frames ;)

I left my frame to cure on top of the boiler in the airing cupboard, I just checked on it. The bloody thing must have over balanced in the night some time and lent up against a bit of cloth. It now has a nice cloth textured patch on the TT and DT!
ROFL ROFL
I did this too. Left frame aside stove overnight to cure, next day put it under heatsink radiator for a longer spell to harden for a few days. Of course, radiators are good for drying cloths...... wet shower towel ended up on it and stuck beautifully to the paint. Nice.

ROFL ROFL
I didn't think it was double ROFL funny but apparently so.
Its not great, but at least the cloth didn't get stuck. -

Impressive that it picked up the pattern of the fabric too.
Will you repaint that tube or overpaint? I left mine another few days by the stove and once fully hardened (1week total) I could pick the heads of the fibres out of the paint without the paint being disturbed, a few minutes with some automotive polish brought the finish back up to how it should be even though the rest of the fibres were buried in the paint. -

i'll just its in the clear coat so i'm guessing i'll have to carefully sand it down and give it a quick extra coat
-
• #45658
Looks a little too deep to buff out. Sanding and a touch up is the way forward.
I didn't think the paint would still be that soft for it to got hat deep -

the paint had 3 days to dry before I clear coated it, I'll just 1200 grit and just take my time, as long as its roughly even that'll do, I've found clear coat can cover small marks quite well.

Hi, first proper post on here so I hope my etiquette is alright, Just bought this frame for what I think(?) is the very good sum of £12, and looking to do it up as my beater round town, its a steve goff frame with columbus genius tubing and a royce bb, does anyone know anything about this frame/tubing?

Portuguese men cannot afford golden teeth, only mustaches.
If Gypsies can, Portuguese can also. Same thing, right?

that was worth it just for the bottom bracket.

worth it just for the tubing decal

Spotter, what you should do, is to mask a section of the tube and then wrap the cloth all the way round to give it a matt finish and texture.
It will be a designated are to pick up or lock the frame. -

that was worth stealing just for the bottom bracket.
Nobody else worried about the provenance?

Going to skim a few thou off it tomorrow with the lathe. -

ye £12, had a few dings and it sounds as though the BB is stuck, but from the sound of it that doesnt seem like such a bad thing
-
• #45674
I didn't think someone selling a stolen bike would be able to strip it to a frame bar the BB. And also would think to list the type of tubing.
