Most big commercial vans are easy/cheap to hire. Usually a minimum of 21 years old and 1 years driving.
Sometimes there's a small fee for being under 25, or for being "high risk".

I should be fine then, although I currently don't have a license (lost it) or a full team.

i was chatting the other day about the idea of hiring a coach and driver, like the old days to marbella, or football away matches. But i can't imagine that a band pays crazy prices to use them to tour. I asked for a qte, so we'll see.

I looked into a coach last year for UK Champs and it was something like £1000.
Bands do pay crazy prices for nightliners+trailer, those things are pretty awesome though.

@£1000 30 ppl = £33.33
get in!
-
• #134
If Brighton and/or Cambridge get in on the act we should easily be able to fill a coach

Those of you who can drive, can you check your driving licenses and see if you have category D1 on there. I do, but I did my test pre-reforms, and I can drive a 17 seater, but we'd ideally need one more (at least) to share the load.
I can get a 17 seater Ford Transit:
So
Rental £509
Fuel(guess) £200I reckon 13/14 people in a 17 seater, to make space for bikes/bags.
so
709/13 = £54.53 each

I haz D1. Edinburgh is a whole days driving though, so we'd have to drive all friday and monday. Last year I spent £170 doing it in a transit, so £200 is probably about right for fuel.

Driving all night and arriving wired and confused just before play comes highly recommended from Newcastle.

Had a look on eastcoast.co.uk. Trains look like £80 return. With two courts we will be finished up by midday on Sunday at the latest, if not Saturday night. So you will be able to catch whatever train home you like.
