I was half-joking, but I'll take one apart and see if the IR filter is easily removed (crucial first step to modifying a camera to see in the dark) when I get the shipment. There's a chance I can do it, in that case I'll need to order some strong LED headlights to modify as well (I have a bag of hundreds infrared LEDs right here). Will PM you in a few weeks' time if I manage to do it successfully. Otherwise it will have to be plain old headlight illumination!

I'd be keen if it can work for winter commuting (dark conditions). And happy to pay a couple of quid more (than ebay) if it goes through a forumenger that vouches for it.

Haha, that explains the night vision! I could possibly modify one for you to see infrared light, as well as a modified bike light containing infrared LEDs (I'm an amatuer electrician/geek). I did it once with a webcam and the results were stunning. Night vision! Then again you could just use a regular light.
