  • £15?! You have to be taking the piss seriously. I bought the exact same camera for £7 (which included p&p) as mentioned ^^^^. They suffer badly from wind noise, video is as you might expect from something so cheap. You have to be careful you don't overcharge the battery as it blows up if you do. Also, instructions are available online but it'll take you an hour to decipher the meaning

Here's some footage for you - taped to the helmet

  • Didn't notice that the base unit was selling for even cheaper on ebay. I totally understand Hoffmeister, no offence taken, but my product does offer value in the following ways:

    1. A new idea. I've tested different products and come up with a combination (camera and bicycle strap) that works.

    2. Reliability. There are many manufacturers offering many very similar looking products (all being copied from one another) but with vastly different qualities. It's the way the chinese gadget market works. I've found a supplier who has produced a product with the decent video quality shown above. It also works well. You might get a high quality camera, you might get a low quality camera, but it's going to be a bit of a gamble.

    3. Integrity. When dealing directly with a far off country you have little idea of the reliability or integrity of your seller. With me, you'll know when your products will arrive and have the opportunity to collect, or try it out before buying.

    4. Time savings. If you're not happy with the product or it doesn't work, you don't have to ship it back and wait another month to get the replacement. Everything that comes from me will be tested, and you'll get a replacement/refund instantly if you're not happy.

    5. Ease of use. When bought direct from china, these things have very poorly written instructions as mentioned by oz. I will make sure to write clear, English, well written instructions detailing all aspects of the remixed product.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm trying to create a finished and convenient product with a lot more value than when they arrive raw and incomplete from China. I was trying to make peoples' lives a little easier by putting together a nice package at a good price (compared to the GoPro and other cameras out there), while making myself a little rent money in the meantime.

Price drop: £10; Remember, it also comes with the versatile handlebar/helmet strap and detailed instructions re-written by myself!

  • Item location: Auchenblae, Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom

  • Serious question. Can it be attached inside the rim of a toilet bowl?

  • ooh ^ cant believe i forgot to ask this...

  • Regarding 3a, 3b and 4 ^^^^ These cameras were the thing to have on several other forums about 2yrs ago. Nobody ever had any problems with the cameras or the companies they were buying from. At £7 a pop you can't exactly complain about the quality and sending it back would be pointless. I could write the instructions nice and clear on here for everyone to download/print. Yes, you have to wait 3weeks for the camera to arrive from China. Big deal.

I'm just pointing out that these cameras can be bought elsewhere for less than half the price. The only person winning from buying these would be singspeed

  • Well the forum as well. if these are a tenner posted with the strap, and singspeed makes a donation to the forum, then I'd rather buy off him, than the ebay site, I'd rather put the money in the pocket of a forum member than uk-technics.

  • Fair do's. I was trying to earn myself an honest profit as I'm generally a broke student with no income from anywhere. If you're not interested, don't buy the product, but I'm sure there are people who would be interested in what I'm offering.

The contact I had wasn't offering them that cheap to me, and just thought they were a bargain. Sorry if it looks like I was trying to rip anyone off! But I think £10 for the camera and the strap, from a donating forum member (basically the higher the income, the more I will happily donate to the forum) who people have dealt with before, at an absolutely tiny profit margin to me, is good value.

(Thanks for sticking up for me Tenderloin!)

  • Still happy to take one off you for £10 with holder and instructions posted singspeed. Like tenderloin said! Cheers mate.

  • I think tenner is a good price.
    Tenderloin, fair word +

  • After a long contemplation... Count me in!

  • Also, if you want the strap in any other colour to black, I also have green, red, and translucent white.

  • Have you got any footage from that camera taken in the urban traffic with it mounted on the handlebars?
Also, I'd like to see something low light (obviously it's shit at night, but more interested how it handles contrast - shadows of the buildings, bridges).

  • I'll try to get some footage of day & night riding on my monday commute :)

For this sort of money I can as well buy one. Right now I have no recollection of my pub commute and it would be nice too see what I was up to.

  • Haha, that explains the night vision! I could possibly modify one for you to see infrared light, as well as a modified bike light containing infrared LEDs (I'm an amatuer electrician/geek). I did it once with a webcam and the results were stunning. Night vision! Then again you could just use a regular light.

  • ^
That's a quite good idea. Most cameras don't give enough detail to register number plates at low light (digital noise).
If you are able to improve the night quality I'd be first to back you up.
At least it goes through the forum.
