I saw a guy, he was riding his bike. We had the same hat so I nodded and then he nodded. It was thrilling and obviously a once in a lifetime experience. It may have been on York rise or maybe somewhere around there. I was the man sporting a blowjob.

some youth on a lovely sleek fixeh DAS'ed me last night about 12 on Kennington Road. I obliged o'course. didn't get a good look at him as it was night and we were both moving.
from the sublime smoothness of his ride, i would guess he had Royce hubs. and judging by the perfect handling I would've thought ChrisKing headset, but I couldn't see the contrasting lettering so bit confused. anyone on here?

Thursday morning 830 ish, I was approaching the junction at Clapham south, it was clear of cars and the lights were mine so I maintained speed. Twat on an (orange?) fixed wobbled out of the shadows straight across the main road in front of me. I said 'ooh, nice one mate' as I braked and swerved. He shouted oi and gave me the finger. I gave him a cheerful wave.
ps in case you're here, I was in black shorts/ top/ helmet on black genesis with rack. Why you so dumb and angry?

On topic, was it Pootsmanuva I saw wearing a BC cap, pulling away from the lights at the Tolington Rd/Isledon Rd crossing? Was heading a different direction so couldn't verify or say hello.
Sounds like me! Is my usual route to work that way! Hello!

Lots of dickplay from riders in and around Richmond park this morning, mainly a certain west London club who like to train fast but hardly seem to race. Seems bizarre to choose a family spot with a 20mph speed limit.
A good few examples of why motorists will keep hating cyclists, well done heroes. -

A good few examples of why motorists will keep hating cyclists, well done heroes. To be fair, quite a number of them race - possibly a teeny tiny bit more than you do - and they've been frequenting the park at the same time each week for over a decade, and prior to the 20mph limit being introduced.
I know it's easy to hate the Dynamo, but they're not all bad. I stopped joining their chaingangs when the speed limit was lowered, but still break it from time to time, when the park is less busy e.g. after the gates have shut. I wonder why they haven't just brought forward their Saturday start time . They could get a safer and higher quality hour done, starting as late as 8am.

@bmmpf I'm normally the first to defend them, but there was some twattish behavior this morning, and not all in the park.
And anyone races more than me, I haven't even started this season yet and last year a grand total of about 5 races I think! Though what I do/don't do is irrelevant to the observation I was making. -

Your house was built over a graveyard, so you won't mind me dropping these festering corpses into your sitting room this afternoon then?

A good few examples of why motorists will keep hating cyclists, well done heroes.Cars do not need to drive around the park, they just need to get to the car parks. Richmond should be closed to non essential traffic. But also, I agree, why go when you know it will be busy? The best time is at night, lights off, full moon :D

That's a whole other subject! essentially I also think cars should eff off from the park, but it's not really going to happen is it?
Makes me laugh when they cause gridlock in the afternoons trying to get into the car parks. "lets go to the park!" is a great idea but leave the fucking motor at home eh... -

I was out with the club this morning, except I was sporting a fetching Rapha/Paul Smith 'Le Grand Depart' jersey (green with white strip) if anyof you lot saw me.
To be fair I was getting annoyed with some of the riders in my group, overtaking people and cutting stright into them. On a number of occasions the non-Dynao riders had to brake to aviod impact. I always have a word with guys that do this.
We ride from 0830 from the central car park now - a decision born out of the fact we always seemed to be in the way at the roundabout so we are conciousness.
For us it's somewhat annoying that people get upset with us. Yes we ride fast, but the Sat morning ride is a club training ride. Summertime things get difficult (as per today) there are a feck ton more riders out in the park. But we ride Sat mornings all year round and it's only 3/4 months when things get so crowded.
AS a club the Sat riders are the most popular and therefore the most important in bringing the club together, individuals being able to meet each other. The number of people who are now in the club compared to 5/6 years ago when we only had 25/30 is testament to how well the club is run and how good it is.
To some degree we are are a victim of our own success.
Every single rider I know and have ever met at Dynamo (bar none) have been top people and are all about their sport. Sometimes the Sat ride gets crowded (at one point today climbing up the steep part of Sawyers Hill there must have been 35 riders climbing up at the same time), but we tend to be overtaking, so we are off on our way fairly quickly.
Sorry rant over, but please realise the club is good, but like you (i'm sure) I believe our courtesy in the park could be improved. This I think I will put forward to Jason and see if it can be worked on.

If you re-read my post you will see the word "mainly" so there was some dumb behavior from LD and also from others, the main incident I refer to was not actually in the park. (Though drafting a 4x4 down the hill and all the way along the bottom at speed looked pretty poor TBH, I wouldn't trust drivers not to do something stupid and brake hard causing a massive pile up) As I say, I know plenty of dynamos, I like the club but today did give me an insight as to why many people seem to have a problem with them, the overtaking and cutting in thing only really matters if you're not used to riding in a group, but I suppose many saturday morning park riders are not.
And please don't call me a cunt unless you would like a punch up?

Lol. Cunt was meant in light hearted jest, apologies
I was in a group which was stuck behind a BMW X5 from the top of the switch-back hill right to the car park on our last lap, which is the sprint. Very frustrating, but unfortunately there isn't much more we can do other than start earlier still.
I ended up taking the BMW on the tiny bridge just to get 100 meters of sprint which was rubbish. But these are the times we live in sir. If only there was somewhere else we could ride in such numbers.
Also, yes there was dickish behaviour by others today, not to mention some drivers.
Hope your laps weren't too much of a disappointment for you tho. Mine were.

Was it silver?
Do you think the bunch riding on the bumper of the motor might intimidate the driver into going faster? I'm not sure of the effect, though it did seem to speed up after the hill.
I personally wouldn't like to get that close, the driver wouldn't even have to brake in a diesel, just lift off the gas slightly and the whole group would be through the rear window. Nasty.I've given up using RP for sprint efforts, it's not ideal.

@pigfarmer - as mentioned upthread, I reckon you should ride earlier. Meet at 7.45am for 8am departure. Then your 4 laps would be complete by 9am. It would cause a natural culling (this is Richmond Park, after all) of riders, but not put off the keen people. Those who prefer to start a little later could be encouraged to head out of town via Kingston/Hampton Court.
Otherwise, you really have to forget about stuff like the sprint for the bridge; or alternatively, have ad hoc sprint 'primes' called by each group leader when you've got a few hundred metres of clear road around you.
