The 88mm from batch #1 is identical to the 88mm from batch #2.
Jim was always happy with that rim.
His issue was with the 56mm from batch #1 in that he did not have confidence in their use with brakes, due to some voids (now filled with epoxy) in the carbon- see the picture up thread.
Dov is using these rims (20 spoke front/24 rear) on the track regulaly and this is what Jim recommends these rims are used for- without the stresses imposed by braking (heat and so forth) he reckons they will be fine.
To sum up- Jim was unhappy with building the 56mm for road use with rim brakes, he would have built them up as track wheels though.
By that token you could run them as "Brakless Hipster", but as they are tubs this would be a brave, and possibly expensive thing to do.
