What about the Cinelli Gazetta? Sorry I've no idea about the technical aspects, but prefer the look of the condor!

The modern day Sheldon Brown, Edscoble, has hailed the Condor as the best bike in the world.

Not that Condor though - I had a Lavoro and rode it on the streets, and as a commuter i cant think of a worse bike unless you value looks above everything else. Great bike, but a comuter it aint.

I'm thinking of getting a new frame for commuting, and considering between the Cinelli MASH and the Condor Lavoro 2011. Currently I ride a 49cm 2006 Specialised Langster. Since I've got a good friend going to USA in a few weeks, I can get the MASH for about 580GBP, while the Lavoro is going for 499GBP in the shop. But I've got a few considerations.
I've never ridden a lopro like the MASH before but I love the look. Afraid of some ball-bashing when I put my foot down. I'm really short at 160cm (5'2")
The guy at Condor warned that although the Lavoro can be ridden on the street, it is not recommended as the frame may crack in large portholes. Will this actually happen?? I'm super light as well at 48kg.
Both frames are super stiff which is what I'm looking for. Apparently the curved top tube on the Lavoro helps absorb vertical vibrations but doesn't flex horizontally at all (really??). While on the other hand the MASH is made for the streets.
MASH looks pretty hip but the Lavoro grows on you and the lines look very elegant and unusual which I quite like too.
Anyone who rides either of these bikes who can give some advice please? I'm not allowed to try the Lavoro coz they don't have a 49cm built up, but I might head down to BLB to see if I can try the MASH for fit.
Thanks!
Those bikes are way too flexy for urban commuting, you fucking idiot.

I hear the MASH is the daddy of the mack daddy.

mine might [I said might] be up for sale in a few weeks…

Wayne's version is much stiffer than current models, so copes better with the fact that urban commuting demands minimal loss in power transfer.
I borrowed it for a day, and knocked 0.001 seconds off my personal best from Old St to Bloomsbury. You can't put a price on that.

You own a Mash? : O

Vinylvillain: How so? Is it too stiff and you can feel all the bumps?
Nuknow: Why? Coz I can't try...that rhymes too!

What can I do, that's the ultimate max max max I can afford...
Wait, how are both these too flexi for power transfer?!?! The Lavoro at least is made for track.

• #22
is the Mash really considered a lop pro?

• #23
Yeah, adjustable top tube.

Get a trek hybrid. You,can have a complete bike for the cost of those frames, and you will have change for a hi vis sash or tabard

If you can afford them, you can afford something much better, not taxed.
