Can I dibs the 26" tyres? It's not for polo but is for a good cause - helping a friend get back into cycling. He's got a terrible and old raleigh, i've fixed it all up for him but it has big knobbly tyres that aren't much cop for roads...

nik - let me know when you're next working and I can come and grab the shopper if it's cool.

I have lots of dead wheelsets that are 'still good for polo'. One is a Langster wheelset circa 2008, the races and cones in the hubs have gone but they still roll and there's lotsa braking surface left. Even comes with a well used but still working shimano 18t freewheel.
The other 2 wheelsets are 27x1 1/4 old steel things, 5speed screw on freewheel type things, one of them still have the 5speed, the other has a 22t fixed sprocket araldited to it.
I need to get rid of these asap so it's polo or the skip!

Pretty sure FlipModeSquadron wants a bike.
-

I've offered it to him but he's shorter than me... It's a very long bike.
-
• #46
Also I have offered him a Holdsworth frame in his size for £60, incidentally that offer is shared to anyone. It's been hammerited and corrosion in some parts has pitted the steel, but it'd make an AWESOME polo steed.

Any chance of using the polo bike as a polo loaner if no-one comes forward? (Especially for the Riding in Circles weekend.)
I'm getting the Archie back up to "non deadly" standards, but the more polo loaners, the better!
-
• #48
Well it's being collected by a chap on sunday, provisionally. If a no show, and you can find someone who can keep it, yeah!
I can't keep it here as a loaner as I need the space now that the gf is moving in... Besides, most nights I go straight from work to polo, so I'd never be able to ghost it to a session.

Ok, no worries, tell him to come to the Beginners Weekend on it...

I'll let him know, and about tuesdays!
