What does pinned rim mean? Would these work with V brake?

Pretty much all rims are manufactured by being extruded. Lengths of this extrusion are then bent into a hoop and the two ends are pinned together. Some rims (e.g. Mavic's SUP range) are also welded at the join. It is claimed that this makes for a stronger join.

Those rims will work with v-brakes (or any other rim brake).

Those rims don't look that strong tho'... Single walled without a box section, no? But you can't really go wrong for a tenner...
