got to say if mclaren went to west ham, it wouldn't be a bad appointment, think he's a good possily great manager and his time abroad will have made him even more so. Would love to see more english managers try their luck abroad, might give them some insight into the stresses of relocation and fitting in that footballers have to go through. Also a chance to see if they as managers have the skills to get a team functioning and doing well in another country..
mclaren's won the league in holland done not so well in germany, as wolsfburg it turned out were an even worse team after he left, so the blame can be spread around for that one.
Personally think west ham need to go with hughton, whose a fan of the club (whatever that means nowadays) and knows how to work under the tightened belt policy that will be in effect at west ham. Not sure the hammers will bounce straight back if they have to sell all their best players (I'm assuming they don't have contracts which reduce wages if they go down, so will need to be got rid so the wage bill is crippling to a club already in debt)
