Thanks for your advice everyone. I've never actively tried to lose weight so all this is quite new to me, I've usually associated calorie counting with annoying girls who have screechy voices and bleached hair, but I'll give it a go.
If you really want to keep your midrift slim. Try a sport that requires you to through your upper body around alot. Something like tennis, volleyball etc. Like you say sit-ups will likely build a little bulk.
