Its about having the lock that makes your bike the least attractive one to steal.
Just keep the current lock, htfu and get used to carrying it around. I have one of those and a massive motorbike cable lock in my bag at all times (nb cable lock is not an endorsed lock, just used for front wheel to frame locking).
