My only real concern is 'why is there such an anti helmet agenda... leave me in peace to wear a helmet and protect myself from pain when I next land on my head'
Risk assessment, it's all about them risk assessment.
My risk assessment tell me that my commute (back then when it was 10 miles each way) wasn't deemed risky enough to required the used of helmet.
However, when I go MTBing with a couple of mates in Surrey, my risk assessment tell me that a helmet may be idea due the higher risk of falling over/flipping over the bar.
If someone ask me which they should spend £40 on, Cycle Training or a helmets, I'll strongly encourage them to go for Cycle Training and worry about helmets later.
