I've got a Rapha Condor skinsuit (which I am far too scared of and unfit to wear without other stuff on top of) and the chamois in that is amazing. Admittedly you probably don't want a skinsuit for your charity ride but I'm guessing they use similarly good padding/chamois in their normal shorts.
