Got this e-mail from Fausto, who is on here, and works for CTUK
Last night some folk jumped over my back fence and stole a couple of bikes.
One was a grey GT hybrid that was worth nothing in either monetary or sentimental value. I bought it off a scrap metal dealer for £13. It retails new for about £300.
The other was my magenta/red/pink polo bike, which used to be my fixed gear bike.
It has a silly low gear (22/17 perhaps), a double chain ring (despite being single speed) but with a chain wrapped around the whole of the outer chain ring (so no sharp teeth are exposed). It has a short black riser bar, "KF" brand (fishers own) dual pivot caliper brakes with Shimano levers and Ernest's old Fizik saddle. The wheels were Quando hubs on "Mirage" rims and were laced 4 cross. Frame was Columbus tubing and had quite a lot of imperfections that i would recognise in an instant.
Anyway, if someone sees something like this then they can probably buy it back for about £10, even though it is worth much more to my dear sentimental heart - it was the first frame I even stripped, sprayed and re-built. It should have gone into the museum they'll open for my life one day.....
