• You don't have to ride the DD at extremely high speed. If you pace yourself a little between now and then, you should be fine.

    And it bears saying over and over again: Anyone with moderate fitness can ride 116 miles. You've done the DD before, and so you have some experience as to how your worries were probably greater than the actual difficulty of the ride. It's very easy to get yourself into the state of mind that it's an unsurmountable task, but if you haven't aged massively or get injured, what you have done before on a bike, you will probably be able to do again.
