  • Yeah I'm fine ride back to HH. Weather looks alright between LDN and brighton anyway, prob be sunny when we're on the road as it is.

Totally stoked for this, first L2B for me

  • Out. Not even home yet...

  • Definitely out. My nans back in hospital and my mum sounds like she may not get better this time.

Don't want to be halfway to Brighton and get a call to say I need to get to Essex. :(

  • Sorry to hear that C...best wishes to your family.

Well, I'll be at traf square at 11am. Hope some other people will be too.

I'm disappointed Iain, I picked my outfit just for you.

  • Weather looks promising!

I'm guessing after getting to Brighton the plan will be to cycle to HH to get the train back?

  • Back in! Can't resist the sun shining through the kitchen windows. See you all at 11.

  • ok, there are trains.
1 every hour at 18 past. southern trains. takes ages mind but is direct.
other option is haywards heath for those keen to ride some more.
i reckons we'll be fine on the trains.

get out of bed, get bike, check bike, start pedalling.
    no flouncing

    catch you all at eleven.

sorry for the radio silence yesterday i was getting smashed on the grand slam.

  • Don't forget sunblock if you're of pasty complexion.

  • Out. Not even home yet...

    good work.

  • Sumo and I are still in. Whoop whoop.

  • Just making a quick fry up, then will head over. I'm riding geared, my cold hasn't cleared up but I really want to get some riding in

  • I'm thinking that 5 home made quarter pounders and 2 pheasant and venison sausages washed down with eight pints of red stripe is the ideal long ride preparation food. I'm feeling GREAT!

  • We're having scrambled eggs then going to traf square.

  • Is there a way from Brighton to HH that avoids the big hill?? If not then might roll to HH from the top of Ditchling. Shame to miss out on actually being in Brighton, but think my legs will thank me for it!

  • Chilli sausages, poached eggs and toast.

  • So, what's the deal with the trains then? Can someone clarify it up a bit?

  • ok, there are trains.
1 every hour at 18 past. southern trains. takes ages mind but is direct.

I guess it's a limited service kinda deal.

  • there's 1 train an hour, or we could ride to hayward heath and take a different train back from there.

  • Fuck it. I'm ready and overexcited. I'm rolling to CX now.

  • Just looking at the southern trains website - seems to suggest there are engineering works? Is it the train from Brighton to London Bridge?

Engineering work starting on 08/05/11 between London Bridge and Norwood Junction.

Track improvements and maintenance are taking place from 01:10 on 08/05/11 to 04:00 on 09/05/11 between London Bridge and Norwood Junction.
Whilst work is taking place, buses will replace trains

  • yes we know, hence why we either take one of the trains every hour or ride to haywards heath and take a train from there.

  • Aye, was just not sure about the other ones. Are these one an hour trains defo running, confirmed?

Have things I need to be back for is all.

  • eg, if the limited service train kicks us off at purley or norwood junction we could be screwed.

  • have a great day, guys. weather's starting to look good

  • Argh. Ok so from what I can see on the southern trains website, there are buses between Brighton and Haywards heath (fine, ride to haywards heath) but also from norwood junction to london bridge as well as between purley and redhill.

Think I might be out.. not sure..
