  • It is, really, isn't it? I suppose they know that they've made some profit already on the shoe - they only repair their own. Plus, now that I know I can get them spruced up and that they'll last an age, I'm more willing to buy from them in the future.

    It's still more expensive than buying cheap £50 Asos brogues once a year, but there's something lovely about the idea that I could have these shoes for decades, even if it is a bit Ship of Theseus (sp?).

    Totally the way to do it, they're deliberately made to be repairable rather than trying to hawk you a replacement pair every couple of years. I like this ethos. Also means another pair of loveless shoes doesn't need to be shipped from China and some highly skilled craftsman keep making a living.
