^^The cleats don't last as long as spds, but I still get about 4-5 years out of pair. A lot of shoes wear out more quickly than that.
SPD pedals are prone to misclips that then refuse to let go of your foot, and are shit if any kind of earthy substances contaminates the pedal or cleat. Other than that, they're great.
Also you don't need 2 sets of cleats for 2 sets of pedals, do you? Only for 2 sets of shoes (admittedly, I have 2 pairs of shoes)
