  • it's not a steel bike is it?!

  • My KHS Aero Track
Frame: True Temper Steel, made in the USA
Cranks: Superbe x Polished Campagnolo Track 1/8''
    Pedals: Suntour Superbe NJS
Stem/Bars: Nitto 100m Jaguar to Cinelli LA84 Bullhorns
Rear Wheel: Campagnolo Record Track to Velocity Deep V
    Front Wheel: HED Deep
    Headset: Shimano Durace 1"
    Saddle: Turbo

  • ^^ Really Nice. I still lust after a Hed !

  • want to sell it?

  • i got some old school time trail bars i was thinking of using like that, tilted down to use the drop, it dose look ok, hmmm!

oh and lovely bike of course

  • Keeping it all, couldn't bare to sell.
Need to invest in matching colour tyres...

  • It's horrible, it looks like a cut and shut job.

  • is that khs designed for a 650c front?

looks odd with sloping TT is all?

  • Original forks so no not 650c.
Scrap metal or bike, everyone to their own

  • can someone chop a 650 shamal onto it (just out of interest...)?

  • I don't think vintage quill stem steel bikes are built to ride fast, but wouldnt the easiest way to drop weight be tubular wheels?

Sorry for being blunt, but that is bollocks.

    Sash. It looks superb.

The oldest bike ridden regularly on our Sunday runs is a Vitus. Very light, very beautiful and draws a bigger cafe crowd than the Colnagos (when in France anyway).

  • Was Fixed Gear, now Single Speed.
I turned the wheel and put freewheel. And a rear brake.

  • Just a single brake is quite sketchy. You don't get the same control as slowing the rear wheel fixed. All of this assumes your riding it on road at any speed faster than a pram.

  • Are you saying that using only the rear brake can cause problems? I hope not! :)

  • Are you saying that using only the rear brake can cause problems? I hope not! :)

    are you kidding?

  • cables snap... it has happened to me. Really on a singlespeed like that, there are more arguments for having 2 brakes than against.

    be safe!

  • are you kidding?

    well he will be skidding...

i would shit my pants if i was riding around with just a rear brake on a road bike

  • I know that a brake on the front and another behind it would be safer.
With just one brake, the rear, the braking behavior is not identical to a Brakeless Fixed Gear?

  • way different, for me anyway, when i ride fixed i just have way more control of the wheel when braking

no harm in sticking a front brake on it

  • Are you saying that using only the rear brake can cause problems? I hope not! :)

You'll probably be ok slow, in the dry, with your weight back...

But basically yes. It's not like fixed. You can't modulate much so you'll skid, with much less control.

No it's not the same at all.

If you give it a shot. Be careful innit.

    :)

  • basicly if you ride around at the speed of a bmx or dj bike you will probably be okay

  • When I restored the bike, it was with the idea of putting Fixed Gear. And so it happened, but, when i ride it, i did not like it.
I like to stop pedaling (right word?), I feel more freedom in a SS.
Do you know what i mean?

    PS-I'm sorry my English.

  • basicly if you ride around at the speed of a bmx or dj bike you will probably be okay

:) yes my speed it is not to fast. :)

  • a single rear brake is slightly better than a single front, but a front and rear is highly recommended, in fact it's a must for a singlespeed bicycle.
