With OBL, we're supposed to be satisfied with talk of burning buildings/helicopters, a corpse in the sea and a suspect photo. At the moment, that's not good enough.

What suspect photo ? The US have not put out a suspect photo as far as I am aware, in fact I don't now that they have put out any photos of the corpse of Bin Laden, but if you know of one can you share it here, or at least point me to somewhere online where I can take a look at this suspect photo that the US authorities have put.

I think that the US government has done something similar, except they have been anticipating for opposite reasons. They have been prepared to knock-up a fake image of a dead OBL, to drag out when they see fit.

Good fucking good, you can actually see the reification of a very poorly photoshopped image someone has placed online into 'proof', the actual foundations of a conspiracy theory being laid.

Can I put a very simple question to you, let's say the credulous public buy this fiendishly clever subterfuge, do you see any potential problems with the US authorities maintaining the illusion of Bin Laden's death ? I can see a few, one obvious one being he can, next week, simply release a video telling his supporters he is healthy and alive, which would of course demolish the US's plan.
