Glad you asked. Machinations are served up right from the very top. I see no reason why the death of OBL can't have been covered in the same manner as that of Saddam, who the American's wanted just as badly. We saw photographic evidence of when he was dragged from his hole in the ground, and there's even footage of him being hung if that's your bag. It happened as was claimed, as the footage insists that's the case.
With OBL, we're supposed to be satisfied with talk of burning buildings/helicopters, a corpse in the sea and a suspect photo. At the moment, that's not good enough. As you know, significant figures, such as the Queen, have films pre-made anticipating their death, so once it occurs these can be run on the news immediately. Broadcasters prepare for the inevitable. I think that the US government has done something similar, except they have been anticipating for opposite reasons. They have been prepared to knock-up a fake image of a dead OBL, to drag out when they see fit. They have planned the fake unveiling of his death as much as they have planned the actual killing of him.
