I have a Shimano freewheel remover (will also remove cassettes; it's 0.4mm smaller!).
Based on Hackney Road. You could drop by with a wheel if you ever need one, people.

Anyone got old school BB tools somewhere east? I have this:
But it would be more use to me in my new frame. Use of a pin spanner and lockring tool in exchange for good karma and a beer.

Hello
does anyone have a headset press within a few miles of Stockwell? I don't know if it's a one-size-fits-all type thing but the headset is 1" threaded.
thank you

Hopefully you can see the images - would really appreciate borrowing the right spanners to remove this BB - anybody North or Central who'd like to share theirs for a fourpack?

Just got back from an evening with the folk of Hackney Bike Workshop, managed to get the fucker shifted, but I cross-threaded it putting it back in the frame. Going to have to pay my LBS after all. Ho hum.
Could do with 32mm headset spanners if anyone haz. East means North East. Double karma points if you cycle up from Lewisham.

Those BB lockrings will come off witha C-spanner found on the side of a pressed-steel multi tool like you get with some punctuere repair kits. Then a pair of needle-nosed pliers should get the adjustable cup out.

Nah, bun dat, see if you can get your lbs to do it when they're sorting out the BB for a nominal fee.

Anyone vaguely in the area of Hackney or Shepherds Bush that might be able to lend a Regina freewheel tool - ie. a splined remover?
Cheers,
Roddy

you have much luck getting this out?
I have a shimano 600 BB with the same type of tool needed. killed my good c/pin spanners trying to get it out. been sat in a bath of plusgas for a few days before hand. Is there a proper tool that does this job?my lbs DID have one, but was lost in the 2009 floods :/

I got it out with the help of the guys from the Hackney Bike Workshop and a massive comedy spanner. I did fashion a pin spanner from a coat hanger that works pretty well, its just the fixed cup that gives the most problems. You need to find a bike shop with a clamp on tool otherwise it just slips off when you apply any torque.
Something like this that goes through the whole shell:

Post-pub squiffy bike assembly: my brother's frame has skinny old school fork ends that don't fit a modern 9mm axle.
Anyone got a metal file in or around E8? Good karma/vibes in return.
Ta.
Geeze a phone on 077eight8six5one09nine.

Both cups are still in the frame.
Tried to make a BB tool out of an isis tool and then cut stainless nails into the relevant splines then held in place with a jubliee clip. But it wasn't man enough, despite using the largest nails that would fit into the BB holes, they just bent under even reasonable force.
The left hand cup (fixed?) with the two flat sides ain't going anywhere either, though TBH in that size I only have a mid-quality adjustable, which as you say, just slips off. -

If the lock ring is off, the adjustable cup should come out pretty easily. Just take it to a decent bike shop and let them stress over it.
Wools, you will need one of these;
And a 5mm Allen Key/Torque Wrench ideally.
